O Ka is the home of an artist’s family in Bamako. It binds him to his parents, his story, his past and to his country, which sank into war. The fight for truth goaded the artist to speak out.

Souleymane Cissé
Born in 1940 in Bamako, Mali. Studied at the Film Institute VGIK in Moscow. “Light” screened at Cannes and won him recognition. Commander of the National Order of Mali and Commander of Arts and Letters of France.
